Companies are required to query their CDL drivers before hiring them and on an annual basis.

Dr Lisa provides the service for companies to join a drug testing program called a Consortium.

A Drug and Alcohol Consortium is a group of employes from many different companies, who are subject to random drug and alcohol testing. The consortium we work with is called TEAM CME.

When you join the consortium your CDL drivers will need to have a "pre-employment" drug test to be entered in the consortium and be in compliance.

Once the drug test is completed, drivers are then entered into a larger pool of companies and chosen at random on a quarterly basis.

We notify you if your drivers are randomly chosen and they come to our office to have their drug test or Alcohol breath test done.

What is a Consortium?

FMCSA Clearinghouse

On January 6, 2020, the Clearinghouse rule took effect. This rule established requirements for the Commercial Driver's License Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse, which is an electronic database used for FMCSA regulated employers and individuals that will contain information regarding violations which are outlined in 49CFR part 382. The FMCSA Clearinghouse database will contain information relating to any and all violations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) controlled substances drug and alcohol testing program. We recommend that you visit the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse website to stay up to date on news/updates to help you prepare for and remain in compliance with the requirements of the Clearinghouse.
